TAHI’I – Marquesan Prestige Fan
“Tahi’i”, a fan made from braided pandanus fiber and carved bovine bone, originates from the Marquesas Islands. Marquesan fans were considered objects of prestige and rank — among the most exquisite adornments in the Polynesian world. Traditionally, only warriors or high-ranking men and women were allowed to carry them, as a symbol of status and authority.
